YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan has denied media reports about the accumulation and movement of troops on the border with Azerbaijan.

"There are no movements on the border. This is disinformation," Papikyan said at a briefing on Friday.

According to him, video recordings, not satellite images, are needed to verify ceasefire violations.

"And since we are not the accusing party, but our neighbors are, if they have evidence of violations, we are waiting for the videos. We are ready to examine them and investigate. So far, we have not received any," Papikyan noted.

The Defense Minister also stated that the ministry had provided the necessary clarifications regarding the shots and violations directed at Armenian positions.

In response to a question about shots fired towards Sotk, Papikyan did not give a clear answer, referring to an earlier statement from the Ministry of Defense, in which the department urged refraining from publishing false information about the army and the situation on the border and advised following the Ministry’s official releases.

Earlier, reports about shelling in the direction of Sotk had appeared in Armenian media.
