YEREVAN, December 3. /ARKA/. The Armenian Embassy in Syrian capital Damascus has launched a hotline at +963 96 000 36 22 to assist ethnic Armenians, following the reignited war in that country between opposition groups and government forces.

"Currently, the lists of ready passports are being clarified. There are cases that are still in the preparation stage and are in Armenia. We are looking for ways to transfer the available passports to their owners. After a slight stabilization of the situation, the consulate will contact the recipients and inform them where and how to obtain their passports," the Embassy of Armenia in Syria noted on Facebook.

The post states that organized evacuation is currently impossible. "We urge our compatriots living in Aleppo and the surrounding areas to refrain from moving as much as possible (only in case of necessity), and to completely exclude attempts to leave the city at this time," the embassy's statement emphasizes.

The embassy also reported that compatriots who have applied for citizenship but have not yet received their passports, and Syrian citizens of Armenian descent who wish to travel to Armenia, can contact the Armenian embassies in Damascus or Beirut and obtain visas in a simplified manner.

According to international media, armed rebel groups have penetrated most of the districts of Aleppo, and they are receiving reinforcements and military equipment through the northern borders. The Syrian army has redeployed to prepare for a counterattack.--0--
