YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan will visit Finland on 28–29 November at the invitation of Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen.

The foreign ministers will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, relations between Armenia and the European Union, and Finland’s forthcoming OSCE Chairpersonship and regional issues.

“The bilateral relations between Finland and Armenia are good. Foreign Minister Mirzoyan’s visit will provide an opportunity to discuss closer cooperation. Finland strongly supports Armenia’s efforts to move closer to the European Union and encourages the country to continue on the path to democratic development,” Minister Valtonen was quoted as saying by Finish media outlets.

"We are interested in expanding political dialogue and cooperation with Finland in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Alongside promoting democratic reforms, there is significant potential for strengthening economic ties and cooperation in other sectors. I look forward to the discussions in Helsinki," Mirzoyan said ahead of the visit.

During his visit to Finland, Mirzoyan will also meet President Alexander Stubb, Speaker of Parliament Jussi Halla-Aho and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Joakim Strand.-0-
