YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. The international community is unable to prevent atrocities and crimes of genocide against humanity, said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

‘One of the main themes of the March 2024 UN Human Rights Council resolution ‘On the Prevention of Genocide’, sponsored by Armenia, was the issue of early prevention of genocide and ensuring early response to such atrocities,’ Mirzoyan said at the opening of the 5th global forum “Against the Crime of Genocide” in Yerevan on Thursday.

According to him, the resolution was periodically amended in a substantive way, 'but there is a clear lack of effectiveness in the efforts of the international community or, frankly speaking, a collective helplessness when it comes to halting the atrocities and genocidal crimes against humanity taking place around the world."

The Minister added that, recently, in various regions, and especially in areas of armed conflicts, the world has witnessed genocidal actions, manifestations, and signals that point to the emergence of new crimes.-0-
