YEREVAN, January 12. /ARКА/. The Armenian Foreign Ministry has handed a letter of protest to the Russian Ambassador regarding statements made by Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov.

Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where he was presented with a protest note expressing deep indignation over Solovyov’s remarks, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan told Armenpress.

According to Badalyan, the letter stressed that the statements made on the air of a program that is part of the state media holding constitute an unacceptable encroachment and a hostile manifestation against the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, grossly violating the fundamental principles of friendly relations between Armenia and Russia.

Vladimir Solovyov claimed that for Russia, the events in Armenia are more painful than the events in Venezuela and that "the loss of Armenia is a gigantic problem."

According to him, based on national security considerations, Russia may launch a special military operation in other territories within its zone of influence, ignoring international law and international order..-0-
