YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign the charter of the "Board of Peace." The corresponding decision was signed the day before by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the document, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan was instructed to organize the signing of the charter.

On January 20, it was announced that Pashinyan had received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the "Board of Peace" as a founding member and had accepted it. On the night of January 22, the Armenian prime minister traveled to Davos, where the signing of the charter of the "Board of Peace" is scheduled to take place at the World Economic Forum.

US President Donald Trump announced the creation of the "Board of Peace" on January 16, 2026. The establishment of this organization is envisaged in the American leader's peace plan for Gaza Strip and includes the deployment of international forces.

The Board's purpose as an international organization is to promote stability, ensure peace and restore "trustworthy and legitimate" governance in regions where conflicts have occurred or where the risk of their occurrence remains.
