Armenian-Iranian-Indian discussions on North-South highway and Crossroads of Peace initiative took place in Tehran

Delegates from the Foreign Ministries of Armenia, India and Iran held trilateral talks in Tehran to explore cooperation opportunities in the field of communications within the framework of the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Armenian Crossroads of Peace projects, taking advantage of the strategic location of the Iranian port of Chabahar.

YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Delegates from the Foreign Ministries of Armenia, India and Iran held trilateral talks in Tehran to explore cooperation opportunities in the field of communications within the framework of the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Armenian Crossroads of Peace projects, taking advantage of the strategic location of the Iranian port of Chabahar.
This is the third meeting in this format. According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the participants discussed the progress achieved within the framework of the decisions taken at the first meeting in April 2023 in Yerevan and the follow-up meeting in December 2024 in Delhi.
The importance of expanding and deepening cooperation, especially in the field of communications, was emphasized in the context of the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Armenian Crossroads of Peace projects, with special attention being paid to the strategic location of the port of Chabahar.
The parties also discussed and emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at developing relations in the fields of economy, trade, culture, interpersonal relations and other areas of mutual interest.
An agreement was reached to hold the next trilateral meeting in Armenia next year at an agreed time.
The Iranian delegation was headed by Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director General of South Asian Affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, and the Indian delegation was led by Anand Prakash, Head of the Regional Department for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran at the Indian Foreign Ministry, and Anahit Karapetyan, Head of the Asia-Pacific Department at the Armenian Foreign Ministry.-0-
