YEREVAN, July 11. /ARКА/. The Armenian Foreign Ministry described the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting held yesterday in Abu Dhabi as 'successful' saying that it can become a serious basis for the further implementation of the peace process.

“Following the meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan, both sides published official, as you may have noticed, identical press releases. Beyond this, if an agreement on a peace treaty had been reached, the public would have been informed,” Foreign Ministry's press secretary Ani Badalyan said in a Facebook post.

Regarding the unblocking of regional communications, Badalyan proposed to take as a basis her official statement, which once again reaffirmed the position of the Republic of Armenia, adding that there cannot be any other agreement.

At the same time, the press secretary called for refraining from quoting irrelevant theses used in the Azerbaijani media.

“We also note that the Armenian public is aware of the government’s considerations regarding the implementation of the peace agenda, and all positions expressed in Abu Dhabi fit within the framework of this strategy, including the topic of unblocking regional communications, on which the Armenian vision is outlined in the Crossroads of Peace project,” Badalyan said.

At a meeting in Abu Dhabi on July 10, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan agreed to continue bilateral negotiations and confidence-building measures between the two countries. They noted the progress in the border delimitation process and instructed the relevant state commissions to continue practical work in this direction, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.-0-
