YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has suggested to the President of Azerbaijan that they begin consultations on signing the agreed-upon draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan shared this message on social media, stating that the draft peace treaty has been agreed upon and is awaiting signing.

On the Peace Process Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

On March 13, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the draft treaty, titled "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan," had been agreed upon and that negotiations for its approval had concluded. The ministry announced that the document was ready to be signed and that Yerevan was prepared to initiate consultations with Baku on the timing and location of the signing.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the current version of the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan represents a set of mutual concessions that Armenia finds acceptable. He noted that two points of the draft, which had caused prolonged disagreements before a compromise was reached, involve the non-deployment of third-country forces along the entire Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the mutual withdrawal of claims filed against each other in international courts, as well as the non-implementation of actions against one another. These two disagreements were also highlighted earlier by the President of Azerbaijan.
