Armenian PM tells Pope about Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process
YEREVAN, 18 November. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday briefed His Holiness Pope Francis at a meeting at the Vatican on the latest developments in the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process and reaffirmed his government's commitment to the peace agenda.
During the meeting, Pashinyan noted that the reciprocal high-level visits confirm the special inter-state relations between Armenia and the Holy See, the Armenian government's press service reported.
Pashinyan added that the appointment of the Apostolic Nuncio Resident in Armenia will serve the progress in friendly relations.
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasised Armenia's full support to the Holy See in serving the peace agenda on international platforms, as well as to joint actions in this regard.
Pashinyan also emphasised that the Republic of Armenia is determined to contribute to peace.
The Prime Minister thanked His Holiness for the Holy See's continuous efforts for the release of the Armenian prisoners (held in Azerbaijani captivity).
The two sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest. -0-
