Armenian President Appoints New Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ambassador to USA

Arsen Torosyan, former Minister of Health and head of the National Assembly's standing committee on healthcare from the ruling Civil Contract faction, has been appointed as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.

YEREVAN, August 27. /ARКА/. Arsen Torosyan, former Minister of Health and head of the National Assembly's standing committee on healthcare from the ruling Civil Contract faction, has been appointed as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs. The official decree has been published on the President of Armenia's website.
He will replace Narek Mkrtchyan, who has been relieved of his duties by another decree of the president. Narek Mkrtchyan has been appointed as Armenian ambassador to USA. He is replacing Lilit Makunts.
Torosyan submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Parliament, Alen Simonyan, on August 20. Subsequently, on August 21, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Arsen Torosyan would be appointed as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.-0-
