Armenian Prime Minister comments on Aliyev's remarks: achieving peace does not imply absence of questions

YEREVAN, August 28. /ARКА/. Achieving peace does not imply that there will be no questions between the parties involved. This assertion was made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while addressing the recent comments made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
In an interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that Armenia's refusal to adhere to the agreements made in Washington would result in significant repercussions.
"If Armenia ceases to acknowledge our territorial integrity, we will reciprocate by disregarding theirs. The question of who will prevail and who will suffer losses in this scenario is, I believe, a rhetorical one," the Azerbaijani president remarked.
Pashinyan emphasized during a press briefing on Thursday, "When we acknowledge that peace has been established, it does not mean that the parties will have no questions for one another in the future."
He further explained that the establishment and evolution of interstate relations is a dynamic process. The parties may reach consensus on certain issues while disagreeing on others, yet this does not alter the overall situation.
He noted that the President of Azerbaijan also acknowledged the establishment of peace between Yerevan and Baku during his interview.
The seven-point declaration, which was signed following the trilateral meeting involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8 in Washington, includes the initialing of the 'Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan', a joint application to the OSCE regarding the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, and jurisdiction of nations, and the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' project.-0-
