Armenian authorities' policy of 'era of peace' benefits Azerbaijan and Turkey- ex-human rights defender

Armenia's former human rights defender Arman Tatoyan has again lashed out at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's administration's policy of "era of peace" (aiming to normalize relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey), arguing that it poses a serious threat to the consideration of Armenia's applications to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the UN International Court of Justice in the Hague.

YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/.

According to him, this policy is accompanied, first of all, by steps and statements made by Armenian government officials, including the head of the government.

Tatoyan described this policy as irresponsible, devoid of professional foundations, implemented in the name of own narrow political interests and putting Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) under serious threat.

"This policy in its current form certainly benefits the authorities of Azerbaijan and Turkey, who use the so-called "era of peace" policy to mislead the international community, continuing in parallel their own policy of deep hatred towards Armenians and ethnic and religious enmity, speaking to us only with the language of threats, destruction or annihilation. Thus, because of the Armenian authorities and, more specifically, the "era of peace" policy of the ruling Civil Contract party our position on the international scene is weakening and we are deprived of international protection," he summed up. -0-
