Armenian authorities to provide 360 million drams to governors’ offices to support Karabakh refugees

YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. The Armenian government will allocate 360 million drams to governors' offices to purchase food and non-food essential goods for thousands of ethnic Armenians who fled their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh and crossed into Armenia after Azerbaijan’s military offensive on Sept.19..
Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Gnel Sanosyan said the governors' offices in Syunik, Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor provinces will be given AMD 50 million each, while the rest of the provinces AMD 30 million each.
"In the future we will increase the amount of funds and distribute them as needed," he noted. Sanosyan reminded that on Monday the government has already provided 100 million drams to Syunik region.
After the more than 9-month blockade of the Lachin corridor was lifted following Azerbaijan's latest offensive on September 19, and a ceasefire was brokered by Russian peacekeepers, more than half of Nagorno-Karabakh's population - 65,000 people - fled to Armenia.
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will cease to exist on January 1, 2024 after its president announced the dissolution of all state institutions by the new year.
A decree signed by president Samvel Shahramanyan says that by January 1, 2024, all state institutions and organizations under their subordination are to be dissolved , and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh) will cease to exist.
Under the agreement on cessation of hostilities Azerbaijan is to allow "free, voluntary and unimpeded movement" of Nagorno-Karabakh residents to Armenia in exchange for the disarmament of its armed forces.-0-
