The ruling republican party of Armenia (RPA) is to hold an executive meeting followed by a council meeting Thursday afternoon. Both meetings have cabinet formation on the agenda, Hraparak (Square) daily reports.

YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. The ruling republican party of Armenia (RPA) is to hold an executive meeting followed by a council meeting Thursday afternoon. Both meetings have cabinet formation on the agenda, Hraparak (Square) daily reports.

According to the newspaper, the party members have no information whether there will be cabinet changes or not, but they claim Tigran Sargsyan will continue as a prime-minister.

“In a certain moment “some cabinet structural change variations” and projections on key minister posts, including the defense, occurred, but Serzh Sargsyan decided not to make any major change for the time being”, the newspaper says.

The newspaper also says that before the changes were expected in September, whereas now the expected time of change is the end of the year. 
Under the Armenian constitution article 55, reelected president Serzh Sargsyan was sworn in on April 9th and accepted the resignation of the government on the same day. 

Under constitutional provisions, the president is to appoint a new premier based on distribution of parliament seats and consultations with parliament factions, within 10 days after accepting the resignation. The new cabinet is formed within 20 days after the appointment of the premier. -0-
