Armenian CEC releases preliminary results of Yerevan Council of Elders elections
YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. After counting 100% of the ballots from all 475 polling stations Armenia's Central Election Commission (CEC) said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party (its candidate for mayoral post is Tigran Avinyan) has won 32.57% (75,463 votes) in the Sunday elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders (municipal assembly).
The National Progress party (Hayk Marutyan) has won 43,765 votes or 18.89%, the Mother Armenia bloc (Andranik Tevanyan) has garnered 35,739 votes or 15.43%, the Hanrapetutyun party (Artak Zeynalyan) has won 26,236 votes or 11.32% and the Public Voice party (Artak Galstyan) has won 22,431 votes or 9.68%.
The voter turnout was 28.46%, i.e. 234,553 out of 824,250 people registered in the electoral lists participated in the voting. --0--
