YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received today Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia Alexander Konyuk, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

It said during the meeting there was an exchange of views on international and regional security issues. Papikyan was said to brief Konyuk on the situation in the region and the developments recorded in recent days in the border regions of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

The sides also discussed ways to deepen the Armenian-Belarusian cooperation in the defense area, as well as implement a set of measures to be carried out in multilateral formats.

The meeting was attended by the newly appointed military attaché of the Belarusian embassy, Colonel Alexei Babkov and his predecessor, Yevgeny Artemenko, who has completed his mission in this position. -0-
