Armenian defense minister discussed military cooperation with Russian ambassador and newly appointed military attaché

YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. Armenia’s newly appointed Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan met on Tuesday with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin and the new military attaché of the Russian Embassy Igor Scherbakov, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
Kopyrkin was said to congratulate Karapetyan on his appointment to the post. Karapetyan in turn congratulated the newly appointed military attaché and wished him success during his tenure in Armenia.
Karapetyan thanked the outgoing military attaché Andrei Grischuk for strengthening the Armenian-Russian military-technical cooperation during his tenure.
During the meeting, a wide range of bilateral military and military-political issues was discussed, including current issues of mutual interest, and an exchange of views on regional security issues took place.
The parties highly appreciated the process of the Armenian-Russian allied cooperation and political dialogue, as well as effective cooperation in the defense sphere. -0-
