Armenian media report that Armenian Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan has resigned. No reason given. ARKA News Agency asked the defense ministry for a comment.

As reported by Armenpress, the media also note that Davit Tonoyan will be replaced by the Chief Adviser to the Armenian Prime Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan.
Davit Tonoyan was appointed as defense minister on May 11, 2018. Prior to that, he served as minister of emergency situations and deputy minister of defense.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan was appointed as chief adviser to the prime minister on August 18 of this year. In 1999-2000 he served as the minister of defense of Armenia. In August 2019, the president of Armenia voided the decree of the second President Robert Kocharian of 2002 on depriving Harutyunyan of the military rank of lieutenant general. -0-
