Armenian defense minister visits DEFEXPO in India
YEREVAN, October 18. /ARKA/. Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan visited today DEFEXPO exhibition in Gandhinagar in the framework of his working visit to India.
Earlier on Tuesday Papikyan met with Indian Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh as part of his working visit to India. They discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation, as well as a number of issues of bilateral military cooperation.
In September, India’s The Economic Times reported that India signed a $250 million worth export order for missiles, rockets and ammunition to Armenia.
The order includes the first-ever export of the indigenous Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers that are already in service with the Indian Army.
India will also supply anti-tank rockets as well as a range of ammunition to Armenia under the bundled deal. This is not the first time that weapon systems have been exported to Armenia. In 2020, India beat competitors from the region to supply four Swathi radars.--0--
