Armenian FM: peaceful political settlement to Karabakh conflict remains on agenda

The meetings in New York (on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session) with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov have shown that a peaceful political settlement to the Karabakh conflict remains on the agenda. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said Friday in a joint statement with the visiting Czech Foreign Minister Yakub Kullhanek.

YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. The meetings in New York (on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session) with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov have shown that a peaceful political settlement to the Karabakh conflict remains on the agenda. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said Friday in a joint statement with the visiting Czech Foreign Minister Yakub Kullhanek.

"I would like to note the importance of the meetings on September 23 in New York with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, as well as on September 24 with the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister through the mediation and participation of the co-chairs, which again state that a peaceful political settlement of the conflict remains on the agenda," he said.

The Minister stressed that in New York he reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to resume a full-fledged process of peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the basis of well-known principles and elements.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, participating in the 76th session of the UN General Assembly’s session in New York, met on September 23 with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Stephane Visconti of France, Andrew Schofer of the United States of America and Igor Khovaev (Russia).

The meeting was also attended by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk. The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place on September 24 with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. -0-
