YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said today that there is a real window of opportunity to bring the peace negotiation process with Azerbaijan to its logical conclusion.

"We have opportunities to achieve peace despite numerous obstacles and difficulties, despite the forced displacement of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, the language and rhetoric of hatred. We see this opportunity and as a government we are doing our best to bring this process to its logical conclusion," he said Wednesday at a press conference with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian.

The minister noted that Armenia has repeatedly stated its readiness to participate in good faith and constructively in negotiations with Azerbaijan, the ultimate goal of which will be normalization of relations and establishment of peace.

"We have repeatedly reaffirmed our commitment to this peace process and, in general, to the establishment of lasting stability in the region. We are negotiating with Azerbaijan on several tracks, in several stages and working on a concrete draft peace treaty. A few days ago we received the latest package of peace proposals of the Azerbaijani side - we will study them and duly present our proposals," he said.

In this regard, the Armenian Foreign Minister noted that in order to achieve peace, it is necessary for Azerbaijan to demonstrate a constructive approach as well.

"We hope that Azerbaijan will demonstrate constructiveness. We see both positive signals, such as the release of Armenian prisoners of war and detainees, Armenia's support for Azerbaijan's bid to host the 29th session of the UN Climate Change Conference, and negative signals - I mean periodically sounding aggressive statements and appeals, as well as evasion from high-level negotiations," Mirzoyan said.

Peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan can be achieved in the first months of 2024, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian said.

"A stable peace can be achieved in the first months of 2024 and we are positive. Those positive sentiments that exist in the region can be realized without external interference through the mediation of Iran, Turkey and Russia within the 3+3 format," Abdollahian said.

In his turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted that Iran's role in achieving peace is manifested in its stance on territorial integrity and inviolability of Armenia's borders. -0-
