Armenian foreign ministry’s 2022 budget to rise by 2.26 percent

The draft budget of the Armenian government designed for 2022 has earmarked 18 billion 653 million drams for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an increase of 412 million drams or 2.26%, compared to its 2021 funding, Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said today in parliament.

YEREVAN, November 4. /ARKA/. The draft budget of the Armenian government designed for 2022 has earmarked 18 billion 653 million drams for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an increase of 412 million drams or 2.26%, compared to its 2021 funding, Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said today in parliament.
The minister said 2 billion 295 million drams of that amount are earmarked as membership fees to be paid to various international organizations.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan said the ministry will work to strengthen the country’s external security as well as to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and to protect the interests of Armenia and its citizens abroad.
Gevorgyan said also that other priorities of the ministry include deepening of the country’s involvement in the activities of international organizations, strengthening of cooperation with allied and partner countries, the settlement of regional problems and the formation of an atmosphere of cooperation.
