YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. Armenian-French decentralized cooperation, which began yet 50 years ago and gained momentum after Armenia declared its independence in 1991, is developing faster and faster, Edward Nalbandian, Armenian foreign minister, said Thursday in Yerevan at the third conference on interaction between the two countries.
“I attach special importance to this interaction, which has become traditional and is a necessary component of the bilateral relations,” he said. “I’m convinced that this conference will open new prospects and new content-rich horizons.”
The minister said that since then cooperation between Armenia and France embraces inter-parliamentary and economic relations as well as cultural ties.
In his words, many programs are being implemented every year in tourism, agriculture, culture, education and healthcare areas under more than 40 cooperation agreements between Armenian and French cities.
“This is a unique contribution to equal development of Armenia’s regions, and Armenia highly appreciates this,” Nalbandian said.
David Lokyan, territorial administration and development minister, on his side, said that the conference will make ties between Armenian and French provinces and communities closer. -0----
