Armenian government raises reimbursement for diplomats serving abroad

YEREVAN, Jan. 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided on Thursday to raise reimbursement for Armenian diplomats serving in the country's foreign missions.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at the government meeting that currently the amount of reimbursement paid to diplomats serving abroad is determined by a government decision adopted in 2014 and has not changed since then.

"However, due to political, economic and other factors, this compensation does not correspond even to the minimum necessary expenses and living standards in the countries our diplomats serve. We propose to amend the 2014 decision on the basis of an updated UN index adapted for our country," Mirzoyan said.

He added that the proposed additional expenses are taken into account in the state budget for the current year. --0--
