Armenian lawmakers unhappy about ambassadors' activity - paper

Armenia's lawmakers met with the country's ambassadors on Thursday. After an open hearings, they also talked behind closed doors. Zhoghovurd daily reports referring to its sources that the closed meeting was tense.

YEREVAN, August 30. /ARKA/. Armenia's lawmakers met with the country's ambassadors on Thursday. After an open hearings, they also talked behind closed doors. Zhoghovurd daily reports referring to its sources that the closed meeting was tense.
Opposition MPs as well as lawmakers fro the ruling party demanded the diplomats to mind their own business instead of meeting and farewelling officials.
According to the daily, Edmon Marukyan, head of the Bright Armenia opposition faction, talked tough urging the diplomats to work more intensively. He said that the statement that Armenia's diplomatic service underwent major changes has nothing in common with the reality.
Arman Yeghoyan, head of the parliamentary committee on European integration, on his side, said that rich Armenians abroad who contact ambassadors in a hope to be informed about ways to invest in Armenia received no information. Diplomats tell hem that this is not their duty to do that.
