Armenian minister denies rumors about 'secret agreement' with Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, January 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's Justice Minister Rustam Badasyan denied today pro-opposition mass media allegation that there are "secret agreements" with Azerbaijan, urging citizens not to trust Telegram channels.

A group of citizens who gathered outside the ministry's building today morning, demanded explanations regarding media claims that on January 11 Armenia's prime minister is going to sign another 'humiliating' agreement with Azerbaijan.

According to these allegations, the text of the agreement was sent to Armenia's Ministry of Justice to make it correspond to the Constitution.

In a Facebook post earlier today Badasyan denied these allegations saying that the ministry had not received any agreement, and the rumors circulated in the media were a lie, an attempt to exert psychological pressure on people.

After an hour and a half protest, the minister came out of the building to assure the protesters there was no such agreement.

“I reaffirm that there is no agreement in the Ministry of Justice, and the disseminated information does not correspond to reality,” Badasyan said.

'I urge you not to trust information from Telegram channels. We have already published a refutation in the morning. The Ministry of Justice does not have any document under consideration, which can be regarded as an international document,”Badasyan said.

“Such issues were not discussed in the government, and I have no information about such an agreement,” Badasyan said. -0-
