Armenian, Moldovan presidents outline cooperation prospects

Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, who is now in Kyrgyzstan for the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s session and for an informal meeting of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member countries, met Friday with his Moldovan counterpart Igor Dodon.

YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president, who is now in Kyrgyzstan for the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council’s session and for an informal meeting of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member countries, met Friday with his Moldovan counterpart Igor Dodon.   

Although his country is not a member of the union, the Moldovan president will take part in the session the consent of the heads of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.

Assignment of the observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union to Moldova will be discussed at the session among other issues.  

“Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Igor Dodon discussed the agenda of the Armenian-Moldovan cooperation in the bilateral as well as multilateral formats and stressed the importance of invigorating the political dialogue between the two states, development of cooperation in the trade, economic, and humanitarian areas, which, according to the Presidents, emanates for the interests of the two nations and friendly peoples,” the press office of the Armenian president reports. 

The parties were unanimous in thinking that it is necessary to expand the legal field, augmenting the existing two dozens of agreements signed by the two countries with new ones. 

In this context, they stressed the importance of relations between the two countries’ lawmakers and governments. ---0---
