YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. The Armenian opposition has started an anti-government march through downtown Yerevan as part of what it calls Resistance Movement aimed at forcing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to resign.

The anti-government demonstrators will march through Sayat Nova and Abovyan streets and

continue to block the streets as part of civil disobedience campaign, according to deputy parliament speaker Ishkhan Saghatelyan, an opposition leader, representing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation/ Dashnaktsutyun party.

Earlier today, the opposition held several rallies in Yerevan moving from the outskirts of the city to its center paralyzing traffic in the downtown Yerevan. The police blocked the entrances to Republic Square. Some opposition activists were detained.

The opposition accuses Pashinyan of plans to give away all of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan after he told lawmakers last month that the "international community calls on Armenia to scale down demands on Karabakh". -0-
