Armenian parliament elects heads of standing committees

After a two-hour secret ballot, members of Armenia’s National Assembly have elected today the heads of 11 standing committees.

YEREVAN, January 18. /ARKA/. After a two-hour secret ballot, members of Armenia’s National Assembly have elected today the heads of 11 standing committees.
"Each MP was given 11 ballots with the names of candidates for the posts of heads of the standing committees. A total of 129 deputies voted out of 132,' the head of the parliamentary counting commission, Vahagn Hovakimyan said.
Narek Zeynalyan was elected to head the committee on health and social issues, Ruben Rubinyan was elected to head foreign relations committee, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was elected to head the committee on education, science, culture, Diaspora, youth and sports issues, Arman Yegkoyan will head the committee on European integration, Andranik Kocharyan will head the committee on defense and security issues.
Vladimir Vardanyan was elected to head the committee on state and legal issues, Varazdat Karapetyan will head the committee on sustainable development, territorial administration, local government, agriculture and environment, Babken Tunyan was elected as head of the committee on economic issues and investments, Naira Zohrabyan will head the committee on protection of human rights and public issues, Mikael Melkumyan will be head of committee on regional and Eurasian integration, Maneh Tandilyan was elected to head the committee on financial-credit and budgetary issues. -0-
