YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan had a telephone conversation today with Davit Ishkhanyan, the newly elected Speaker of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) National Assembly.

Ishkhanyan was elected Speaker at the sitting of the Artsakh parliament on Monday by a vote of 22 to 9.

Davit Ishkhanyan is a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) faction,.

According to the press service of the Armenian parliament, Simonyan congratulated his colleague on assuming the responsible position, wishing him success.

During the phone conversation initiated by Simonyan, the partners discussed issues of further cooperation.

Ishkhanyan replaced Artur Tovmasyan, who resigned on July 29.-0-
