YEREVAN, November 11. / ARKA /. A package of documents on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union may be included in the agenda of the next session of the parliament in early December, president Serzh Sargsyan said in an exclusive interview with Armenpress news agency.
"We are committed to completing the process of national ratification of these documents. A huge work has been done for the implementation of the road map. This time too, Armenia acted as a responsible partner by fulfilling its obligations for this period of time," said Sargsyan. He said the package of documents has been sent to the Constitutional Court that will have to examine its conformity with the constitution.
He said the Constitutional Court will begin hearing the case on November 14 and is expected to deliver its decision within three days. Then, the documents will be submitted to the National Assembly where it first will be discussed by parliamentary committees and then in early December they will be included in the agenda of parliament session.
Sargsyan asked not to accuse him of putting pressure on the Constitutional Court or the National Assembly.
"I simply list the procedures that the documents must go through. Of course, we also expect the ratification of the documents by the parliaments of the partner countries so that Armenia becomes a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union from January 1, 2015," said Sargsyan.
