YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. Armenian police have detained today 91 anti-government protesters in Yerevan, Edgar Janoyan, deputy head of Armenian Police Public Relations and Information Department, told Novosti-Armenia news agency.

Several car convoys simultaneously drove today along several major streets in the capital city as part of the civil disobedience campaign launched by two parliament-represented opposition alliances Hayastan and Pativ Unem in a bid to make Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resign.

Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a deputy parliament speaker leading the anti-government crowd, said earlier the disobedience campaign will continue until Pashinyan steps down. He said once Pashinyan resigns the opposition leaders would install an interim government of technocrats to run the country for a year before holding fresh general elections.

The opposition accuses Pashinyan of planning to place Nagorno-Karabakh under Azerbaijani control. -0-
