YEREVAN, May 11. /ARKA/. Using mortars and artillery Azerbaijani troops have been firing at Armenian positions since 6 am Thursday outside the village of Sotk in Gegharkunik province, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

It said as of 8:00 three Armenian soldiers were wounded. The Azerbaijani troops opened fire on an ambulance carrying a wounded serviceman.

"Armenian armed forces are taking appropriate defensive and preventive measures," the ministry said.

At the moment the situation at other segments of the border is relatively stable, it said. The Defense Ministry also denied Azerbaijani mass media reports claiming that Iranian drones were used by Armenia.

"There are no Iranian drones in service of the Armenian armed forces, " the ministry said. --0--
