Armenian premier joins protesters outside court building

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan joined protesters who blocked today morning entrances of court buildings in Yerevan in response to the call of the premier. The premier called Sunday night on the supporters to rally outside Armenia’s court buildings and to block their entrances for what “the start of the second and most important phase of the Armenian revolution”, which is aimed at making the country’s justice system independent. He said he will make a special statement on Monday at 12:00.

Former Armenian president Robert Kocharyan’s trial took an unexpected twist on Saturday - judge David Grigoryan released the defendant on bail after Artsakh president and former president Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukassyan respectively appeared at the Saturday’s court session, at which Kocharyan’s pretrial detention was heard. They asked the judge to release Kochgaryan under their personal guarantees and on a $1000 bail. And the judge did. -0---
