Armenian president and OSCE chairman-in-office discuss Karabakh conflict and Armenian -Serbian ties

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and  Serbia’s foreign minister Ivica Dacic, who is also the OSCE chairman-in-office, discussed today in Yerevan a set of issues including Armenian-Serbian relations and  the current status of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

YEREVAN, June 3. / ARKA /. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and  Serbia’s foreign minister Ivica Dacic, who is also the OSCE chairman-in-office, discussed today in Yerevan a set of issues including Armenian-Serbian relations and  the current status of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

President Sargsyan was quoted as saying by his press office that Armenia is ready to assist Serbia in implementation of Serbian priorities through its chairmanship in the OSCE. President Sargsyan also praised Armenian government’s effective cooperation with the OSCE Yerevan Office saying that Armenia wishes to deepen it.

President Sargsyan asked the minister to convey his best wishes to president Tomislav Tomic stressing that the latter’s presence at the commemoration of the centenary of the Armenian genocide on April 24 in Yerevan was not only the best illustration of Armenian-Serbian friendly relations but also the reconfirmation of Serbia’s commitment to fight against crimes against humanity.

The two men were said also to have agreed that the opening of diplomatic missions in Yerevan and Belgrade will give a new push to development of bilateral relations.

Ivica Dacic commended Armenian authorities for their productive cooperation with the OSCE Yerevan Office and other agencies of the organization.

President Sargsyan said that Armenia will cooperate with the OSCE Minsk Group to try to find a solution to the Karabakh conflict based on international law and norms, UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act.-0-
