Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed decree appointing Nikol Pashinyan as prime minister.

YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed decree appointing Nikol Pashinyan as prime minister.
In accordance with the Constitution of Armenia, the president appoints the candidate nominated by the parliamentary majority as prime minister at the first session of the parliament.
Nikol Pashinyan has been nominated by My Step faction in the National Assembly.
In the early parliamentary elections held in Armenia on December 9, 2018, My Step bloc won 70.42% of votes, Prosperous Armenia obtained 8.26% and Bright Armenia scored 6.37%.
As a result, My Step has MPs in the 132-member National Assembly, Prosperous Armenia has 26 seats here and Bright Armenia 18. -0---
