YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed two decrees today to appoint two deputy directors of the National Security Service (NSS).

According to the president’s press service, Samvel Hayrapetyan and Robert Bazikyan have been appointed as new deputy directors of NSS.

The former director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan resigned in September accusing the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of being unable to differentiate between primary and secondary and transient and lasting things.

“Let my resignation be a sobering ‘Stop’ step,” Vanetsyan said in a statement. A couple of days the head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan resigned.

On September 19 Pashinyan appointed Eduard Martirosyan, deputy director of the NSS, as interim director of NSS and Arman Sargsyan,  first deputy head of the department, as interim head of the police. -0-
