Armenian president arrives at Republic Square
YEREVAN, April 21. /ARKA/. Armenian president Armen Sarkissian , accompanied by his bodyguards, arrived at the Republic Square in downtown Yerevan, where tens of thousands of protesters have gathered for another demonstration against the appointment of former president Sezrh Sargsyan as prime minister.

Earlier today, the leader of the opposition parliamentary faction Yelk, Nikol Pashinyan, who has been leading mass protests against the election of Sezrh Sargsyan as prime minister, responded to the invitation to dialogue, voiced by Armen Sarkissian, inviting the latter to the square.

Making his way through the crowd Sarkissian approached Nikol Pashinyan. They spoke for some time, however, their conversation was inaccessible as the president’s bodyguards did not allow journalists to come nearer with their microphones. As Sarkissian and Pashinyan were talking the crowd chanted ‘Nikol, Nikol,’ and ‘Make a stand, say no to Serzh.”

Some time later Sarkissian and his bodyguards moved to the cars that brought the president to the square. They got in and moved away. Sarkisian was heard to say, apparently to journalists, that he would invite them all. -0-
