Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s absence from Collective Security Treaty Organization’s informal summit shouldn’t be considered as walkout, Arthur Baghdasaryan, the secretary of the National Security Council, said Thursday at a news conference.

YEREVAN, May 30. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s absence from Collective Security Treaty Organization’s informal summit shouldn’t be considered as walkout, Arthur Baghdasaryan, the secretary of the National Security Council, said Thursday at a news conference.
“Nothing of the kind - it was reported beforehand about the Armenian president’s decision not to attend the summit,” Baghdasaryan was quoted by Novosti-Armenia as saying.
Serzh Sargsyan missed the informal summit in Bishkek because Armenia celebrated the Day of the First Republic on May 28. However, some media outlets and experts saw some walkout in it.
Baghdasaryan is convinced that the president would be blamed far more if he left the country, which celebrated its national holiday, for the summit.
The head of the National Security Council also said that the Belarusian president missed the summit as well. He, like Sargsyan, notified of his decision in advance.
“The meeting in Bishkek was informal, and an official CSTO summit will take place in this year’s November or December,” he said. -0-
