Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent Wednesday condolences to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping over boat disaster in China, the Armenian president's press office reports.
YEREVAN, June 3. /ARKA/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent Wednesday condolences to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping over boat disaster in China, the Armenian president's press office reports.
«On behalf of Armenian people and on my own behalf I express condolences to you and friendly Chinese people,» Sargsyan said in his message. «Mourning with you, I wish families of the victims and the Chinese people courage and spiritual firmness.»
The president expressed confidence that the Chinese authorities' efforts will make it possible to save many lives.
A ship carrying 458 people sank late Monday in China's Yangtze River. Twenty three bodies have been taken out of the river.
The captain and chief engineer, who have been among survivors, were taken into custody by police. ---0-----
