Armenian president to pay state visit to Singapore

President Serzh Sargsyan will make a state visit to Singapore at the invitation of his counterpart, Tony Tan Ken Yama, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

YEREVAN, February 29. /ARKA/. President Serzh Sargsyan will make a state visit to Singapore at the invitation of his counterpart, Tony Tan Ken Yama, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
It said Nalbandian was in Singapore to discuss with its president prospects for boosting bilateral cooperation and expansion of economic relations.
According to the ministry’s statement, Nalbandian thanked Tony Tan for the reception, and conveyed the greetings and wishes of the President of Armenia.
Nalbandian was quoted as saying that the visit of Lee Kuan Yew, the creator of "Singapore miracle" to Yerevan in 2009 opened a new page in relations between the two countries and assured that the state visit by President Serzh Sargsyan to Singapore will give a new impetus to the development of friendly relations between countries.
The President of Singapore was quoted as saying that Armenians have left a deep mark in the history of that country and contributed to the process of its development. Nalbandian was said to meet also with Foreign Minister Kasivisvanathan Shanmugam to discuss the strengthening of the legal field and arrange preparations for signing a number of documents between the two countries.-0-
