YEREVAN, June 28. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised Thursday to part with the residence in Baghramyan Avenue and return it to the country’s president.

Pashinyan thinks that the premier should return the residence to the president, as it was before.

He finds it strange to work in two buildings and finds it convenient to work in the government building in the Republic Square.

Pashinyan said that some procedural matters should be settled before handing the residence over to the president, since the prime minister’s status has been changed and he became the first person of the country.

“We will try to solve all the problems very soon and the premier will have one residence and we will give the residence in Baghramyan Avenue back to the president,” he said.

The Armenian law was amended yet under Serzh Sargsyan’s rule. The former president, who has made all preparations for taking up the prime-ministerial seat, was to be the country’s first person after becoming the premier and, in accordance with the amended law, he was to take up also the presidential residence upon taking the prime-ministerial office.

However, on April 23, Serzh Sargsyan, succumbing to the massive civil unrest actions that rocked the country, resigned amid widespread disaffection for him. --0---
