YEREVAN, November 12. /ARKA/. The Republican Party of Armenia decided Sunday night to run in the snap parliamentary elections, Vigen Sargsyan, the newly elected first vice chairman of the party, told journalists.

In his words, Armenian Republicans have issued a document presenting “their vision of things in the country” and also “their achievements for the last years”.

The decision came after long discussions and the party in now being transformed from the ruling political force into the opposition, Sargsyan said.

He is convinced that the party has an ideology and that he and his fellow partisans have plenty to do. He also said that “they seek voters’ confidence not to come to power”, but for doing a hard work “for the sake of the country” and “for building statehood”.

The party man said he will top the party list in the early parliamentary elections.

”The list will be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission on November 14,” he said.

In his words, Armenian Republicans have an ambition to be the only opposition force, which will keep its eye on the fulfillment of the promises given by the Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is the Civil Contract party leader.

Sargsyan also said that Serzh Sargsyan, a former Armenian president, and Karen Karapetyan, a former prime minister, will not take part in the election. --0---
