YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is ready to include its colleagues from other political forces in the new cabinet, vice-speaker of Armenian parliament, member of RPA’s executive body Eduard Sharmazanov said.
On Sunday the RPA nominated speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for the premier’s post, to replace Tigran Sargsyan who had resigned on April 3.
Inclusion is possible only under condition of partial and full responsibility, Sharmazanov said.
“There is still time (before the cabinet is formed) and our colleagues from Prosperous Armenia and Dashnaktsutiun will be able to provide their views”, the vice-speaker said after RP executive body and board meeting.
Sharmazanov said political consultations are still under way.
According to Armenia’s constitution, the cabinet is formed within twenty days after the premier is appointed.
Prosperous Armenia party led by an Armenian tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan was in the ruling coalition in 2007-2012. Dashnaktsutiun, one of the oldest Armenian political parties, left the coalition in 2009, in protest against the signing of Armenia-Turkey protocols.
The previous coalition government formed after the parliamentary elections of 2012 composed of the RPA and Orinats Yerkir party led by the secretary of the National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan. –0--
