YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan conducted an official visit to Japan where he met with Akiya Takeo, Japan's National Security Advisor, for an official meeting and working lunch, the Security Council's press service reported on Friday.

The discussions focused on the future development of economic relations between Armenia and Japan. Both sides exchanged views on regional and global security issues and discussed the Crossroads of Peace project.

In October 2023, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the Crossroads of Peace initiative aimed at establishing regional communications. The project emphasizes the importance of open borders and economic, political, and cultural connections as key components of a peaceful agenda.

A specialized unit has been established within Armenia's National Security Council to ensure the security of cargo, vehicles, and people passing through international communications routes via Armenia.
