YEREVAN, October 10. /ARKA/. Artsrun Hovhannisyan, spokesman for the Armenian defense ministry, at a briefing at the Armenian Unified Infocenter, presented the situation in Artsakh last night before the ceasefire and the losses of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
"There were battles, and it was especially hot in the southern direction. In general, the enemy tried to carry out the same actions, to ensure advancement, which was stopped by the Armenian armed forces," he said.
Hovhannisyan said that during the fighting yesterday and until Saturday afternoon, the enemy lost 200 people, 3 unmanned aerial vehicles, 4 pieces of mechanical transport equipment and other armament.
“A few hours before the ceasefire, the enemy's actions intensified, but our Armed Forces stopped all advances. At the moment, basically, the ceasefire is observed, as announced, from 12:00, despite the fact that in some places provocations were carried out and from our side the answer was given to them," he noted.
War in Artsakh
On September 27, at 07:10, Azerbaijani troops launched an offensive along the entire length of the contact line in Artsakh, but were thrown back in several directions. Intense fighting continues in the south, southeast and north of the front line. Turkey joined the aggression. Residential areas are being shelled as well.
The Azerbaijani side suffered losses in manpower (more than 4,569 people killed and over 5,000 wounded) and equipment, in particular, 166 UAVs, 4 units of TOS – 1A, 4 Smerch and Uragan MLRS, more than 512 tanks and other armored vehicles, 18 helicopters and 17 aircraft. According to the data of the defense ministry of Armenia and Artsakh, more than 376 Armenian servicemen were killed and hundreds wounded on the Armenian side. Also 21 civilians were killed and more than 90 wounded on the Armenian side.
Armenia informed the international community, including the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, about the aggression by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, also about the shelling of peaceful settlements.
