YEREVAN, August 3. /ARKA/. An Azerbaijani serviceman who had been detained after crossing the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was handed over to Azerbaijan, Armenian Defense Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the Azerbaijani serviceman, identified as Kamiz Ibayev, was detected by Armenian border troops on July 23 at about 1:30 p.m. in the border zone of Gegharkunik province

It said an investigation found that the Azerbaijani soldier had lost his way and crossed into the Armenian territory.

Ibayev was handed over to the Azerbaijani side through the mediation of Russian peacekeeping brigade deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenian defense ministry spokesman Aram Torosyan said. -0-
