Azerbaijani troops again fire at Armenian positions in Yeraskh
YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. Azerbaijani troops used firearms of various caliber today to fire at Armenian military posts on the Yeraskh section of Armenia’s border with Azerbaijani exclave Nakhichevan, Armenian defense ministry said.
It said the shooting occurred at about 12:10 local time. As a result, the grass cover on both sides of the border began burning.
“The Armenian side is taking measures to counter and suppress the enemy’s fire. There are no casualties on the Armenian side,” the ministry said.
The Armenian village of Yeraskh, located on the border with Azerbaijani exclave Nakhichevan, has been under the fire of the Azerbaijani troops from July 14. The interstate M2 highway connecting the north of Armenia with the south, Nagorno-Karabakh and Iran runs through Yeraskh. To the west of Yeraskh is the Armenian-Turkish state border. -
