YEREVAN, October 26. /ARKA/. During the battles taking place Sunday evening, Azerbaijan managed to occupy Kubatlu and move in some directions in Artsakh, said Artsrun Hovhannisyan, a representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry, at a briefing at the Unified Information Center.

"Yes, the enemy was successful in some places, yes, they approached Syunik, but the situation is not critical. I believe in the Armenian soldier, in his mind and skill. The Armenian soldier, even if he stumbled somewhere, in many places he forced the special units, who are considered one of the strongest in the world, to flee. And this is repeated almost every day. Often we retreat because people's lives are more expensive, we occupy new lines, but this is not fateful. The situation is difficult, the battles are fierce, the war is difficult, but the situation is not desperate," he said.

Hovhannisyan noted that the territories occupied by the enemy will be presented on an interactive map tomorrow.

In his words, early this morning, the Azerbaijani troops, along with various terrorist organizations and units of the armed forces of other countries, launched a large-scale attack in the southeastern direction, at the same time shelling the city of Artsakh.

Hovhannisyan said that throughout the day the enemy gangs failed to break through the front line, despite the fact that they had seeming successes in certain areas.

“Our subunits managed to restore the front line by counterattack. At the same time, in the forests near the villages located to the north of Hadrut, work continued to search for and destroy raider groups. Some raider groups fled leaving equipment but in some villages - Sheher, Jivanik, Azokh and other nearby settlements – battles continue," he said.

Earlier today, the Armenian defense ministry accused Azerbaijan of breaking the third ceasefire agreement.

Third Humanitarian Ceasefire Arrangement

The Armenian foreign ministry published yesterday the text of a joint statement of the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan, which notes that the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab

Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov met with US Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Bigan on October 24 and reaffirmed their countries' readiness to comply with the humanitarian ceasefire agreements, which were reached on October 10 in Moscow, confirmed in a statement made on October 17 in Paris and consonant with the statement of the presidents of the United States, France and Russia on October 1.
The ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan came into force on October 26 at 08:00 local time.

This is the third attempt to establish a ceasefire. The first two agreements, which were reached on October 10 through the mediation of the Russian Federation and on October 17 through the mediation of France, were violated by Azerbaijan.

War in Artsakh

On September 27, at 07:10, Azerbaijani troops launched an offensive along the entire length of the contact line in Artsakh, but were thrown back in several directions. Intense fighting continues in the south, southeast and north of the front line. Turkey joined the aggression. Residential areas are being shelled as well.

Azerbaijan is supported by the Turkish Armed Forces and foreign mercenary terrorists recruited by it. The Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression encounters a decisive rebuff from the Armenian Armed Forces along the entire frontline.

The Azerbaijani side suffered losses in manpower (more than 6,674  people killed and thousands wounded) and equipment, in particular, 217 UAVs, 6 units of TOS – 1A, 4 Smerch and Uragan MLRS, more than 600  tanks and other armored vehicles, 16 helicopters and 24 aircraft.
According to the data of the defense ministry of Armenia and Artsakh, more than 960 Armenian servicemen were killed and hundreds wounded on the Armenian side. Also 38 civilians were killed and more than 120 wounded on the Armenian side. -0--
